How to Trigger Automation Using DDR Clips Using TriCaster® TC1
August 19, 2019 by Richard Evans, video; Chuck Baker, text
NewTek TriCaster® automation extends to virtually every part of the system, and this includes being able to assign macros to trigger on the in and out points of a video clip in the DDR. This allows for simplifying both live and post-production tasks and for bullet-proofing tasks at show time. Examples:
- Begin recording a live production for archiving by activating the Record function at the inpoint of the intro clip (seen in this tutorial)
- Automate a switch to a live camera and bring up the correct lower third graphic for the talent on that camera by assigning a macro to the outpoint of a clip (seen in this tutorial)
- Automatically key clips into virtual displays on your sets usiing a macro assigned to their inpoints
- Automate an entire show with keying, effects and graphics from macros embedded into the clips stacked in the DDR
NewTek video producer Richard Evans uses a TriCaster TC1 for this tutorial, but the NewTek VMC1 production systems and TriCasters with the latest Advanced Edition software or Premium Access will also offer this capability.
