Roller Derby Revival Fueled by Live Sports Production

The Women’s Flat Track Derby Association (WFTDA) has brought the sport of roller derby, essentially dead at the end of the 20th century, back from small beginnings in Austin, TX to an international amateur phenomenon with hundreds of leagues and thousands of teams worldwide. Roller Derby’s revival is so complete that it is one of the sports in consideration for the 2020 Olympics. To further boost growth, WFTDA found an affordable approach to production so they could develop an audience for live online streaming of roller derby competitions.
